I have been talking about starting a blog for a while, and this is the year that it happens. Last year was the year it was supposed to happen, and I successfully talked myself out of it for 12 whole months. 2012 is the year of the dragon, and if you’re going to start a blog in any year, it’s gotta be a dragon year. That’s just fundamental blog shui.
I’m going to make this first post a pact with myself, and you, the reader. The reader is also me, at this point. Hopefully I won’t have to scold myself too often.
First and foremost, I want to keep myself on a schedule. Once a week, every Monday, you can expect a post from me. I’m going to keep this as excuse-free as possible.
This blog is destined to be a mixed bag, even though I am going to try to keep it architecture focused. As anyone who was ever in architecture school will tell you, though, basically everything is architecture. After that, they’ll go into a long speech with a lot of big words and you’ll zone out and look around the room for someone else to talk to. I’m going to avoid getting to that level. Ideally, the career architects will get the references, and everyone else will ignore them to get to the funny parts.
This blog will be in my voice, but not about me. This won’t be some kind of weird journal about what I did this week or what’s pissing me off these days. I’m sure that will creep in, but not enough to creep you out.
So that’s it. If you’re reading this in reverse chronological order, then this is the last thing you read. Let me know how I’m doing.
